If your legal IPTV service gives you an M3U or M3U8 URL, loading it into a compatible IPTV player is usually simple. The annoying part is often typing a long URL with a TV remote.

What is M3U?

M3U is a playlist format used to organize stream addresses. M3U8 is a common UTF-8 variant.

Add M3U on Android TV or Google TV

  1. Install a compatible IPTV player.
  2. Open the add playlist or M3U option.
  3. Paste the M3U/M3U8 URL from your service.
  4. Save and wait for the playlist to load.
  5. If XMLTV data is provided, configure the EPG guide.

Send the playlist with AFKast

AFKast's “Send Playlist to Device” feature is designed to avoid long remote typing. Open AFKast on your TV, note the short device code, enter it on the website, and send your M3U/M3U8 URL or supported Xtream Codes details from your phone or computer.

What are Xtream Codes?

Xtream Codes commonly use a server address, username and password. Enter these details into the matching fields of a compatible player.

If the playlist does not load

Check the complete URL, remove accidental spaces and confirm that your service is active. Testing the same details on another device or network can help isolate the problem.
