What is EPG? It is the electronic program guide that shows which program a channel is airing and when. If your IPTV player, such as AFKast, shows program titles next to the channel list, that information comes from EPG data.
How does EPG work?
Program information usually comes from a separate source, often an EPG address supplied by your service provider. The player matches that data to your channels and displays the schedule on screen.
Why might EPG not show up?
- No EPG address may have been provided with the playlist.
- Channel IDs may not match the program data.
- The date, time or time zone on your device may be wrong.
- The program data may not have refreshed yet.
What can you do?
Start by checking the date, time and time zone on your device. Then ask your provider whether the EPG address is correct and the data is up to date. Some players let you refresh the EPG data manually.
